Frank Fritz Has A History Of Medical Issues
After Frank Fritz rose to fame in 2010, everything seemed to be going great for the reality star. Then, fans started to worry about Fritz's health a few years later because they noticed that he seemed to be losing a worrisome amount of weight.
In 2013, Fritz posted on Facebook to reveal what was going on with his weight and health at the time. As Fritz revealed, similar to other stars like Pete Davidson, he'd been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and that is what was causing his transformation.
"A lot of you have been wondering about my health and my weight loss," "I have an illness called Crohn's [disease], which at times is difficult to deal with." Fritz explained that his health condition caused him to start losing weight and then he just decided to go with it.
"I started losing weight and ran with it! I have been exercising and eating good ... Thanks for all of your kind words of concern! I couldn't do what I do without all of you!"
Even though a lot of people don't know what Crohn's disease is, it is an ailment that can have extremely serious health repercussions. Fortunately, it seems like Fritz learned to live with that. Sadly, however, Fritz has struggled with other health issues that can destroy someone's life.
In 2021, Fritz revealed in an interview with The Sun that he'd gone to rehab for alcohol addiction. On top of that, Fritz explained that his mother and grandfather both lost their lives because of their struggles with alcoholism.
“I went to rehab and I’ve been sober now for 11 months. I didn’t like drinking anymore. My mom was an alcoholic and she died five years ago and it was alcohol-related. My grandfather was an alcoholic and he died. That didn’t sit well with me.”
On the bright side, Fritz revealed that going to rehab was really productive for him and he was even able to help some of the other people who were there for treatment.
“I had a great time there and I helped other people who were having problems too. It’s one of the best things that have happened to me.”
Why Frank Fritz's Health Problems Have Become So Serious
After Frank Fritz was fired from American Pickers, there were a lot of rumors about Mike Wolfe pushing him out. As a result, there were a lot of people who came to believe that Fritz and Wolfe had become enemies after being close friends for so many years.
No matter what anyone believes about those rumors, Wolfe took to social media to profess his concern for Fritz after Frank suffered a stroke. “I have been very private in the past year in regard to Frank's life and the journey he’s been on."

According to The U.S. Sun, court filings show how drastically Fritz's stroke has changed his life and mental status. After Fritz's stroke, he went to live in a nursing home as he went through rehab and one of Frank's friends was appointed to be his guardian.
According to reports, Fritz was able to accumulate an impressive $4 million fortune. Based on a court filing, Fritz's ability to care for himself was severely damaged by his stroke, so a bank also has been appointed to take control of his finances.
“Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety, or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care without which physical injury or illness may occur."
